Nottingham Assizes.  All the prisoners sentenced to death were reprieved before the Judge left the town. … Joseph Upton, aged 20, John Plumb, aged 27, and Samuel Alexander, aged 18, for stopping Wm. Potter on the highway at Bunny, and robbing  him of a silver watch and other articles—All condemned.  ... Stamford Mercury, 23 March 1821.

Samuel married Mary A Barsden 7th November 1842 and had 4 Children one of his daughters, Sophie Elizabeth was my great grandmother

Samuel was the brother of my great great grandfather Isaac. He along with brothers Isaac & James committed highway robbery. Samuel & Isaac came to NSW on the same ship. James was sent to Tasmania. When free the 3 boys became successful farmers in the Molong, NSW district. Only Isaac married.
