INQUEST: 11 August, 1852: Launceston Examiner, p6 (https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/36263780): "DEATH AT THE FACTORY... A coroner's inquest was held at the female factory on Monday, to inquire into the circumstances of the death of a female passholder, named Jane Allen, who had died on the previous Saturday. It appeared that during the week the woman had been delivered of a stillborn child, and the jury, after hearing the evidence, returned a verdict of 'died from natural causes'." -- 11 August, 1852: Cornwall Chronicle, p506 (https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/65578894): "Inquest. — An inquest was held on Monday last, at the female factory, on view of the body of Jane Allen, a passholder in the service of Mr. Spearman. The jury returned a verdict of 'died from natural causes'."

Jane Allen was convicted at Wexford, Ireland for arson - burning the Poor House. 10yr sentence on 1/3/1850. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Blackfriar' arriving 1851. Aged 18yrs; housemaid; Protestant; can read' 4'11"; fair complexion; reddish brown hair; Hazel eyes; native place - Co. Wexford; single. Assignments of service in Colony. Launceston & Longford. Delivered of a still born child 30/7/1852 at the House of Correction, Longford, Tas. Jane died 7/08/1852 Launceston.
