Irish Convict Database, by Peter Mayberry. Thomas Allen, alias Allan, age on arrival, 35, Irish White Boy rebel. Per Earl St Vincent, (3) 1823. Tried at Limerick Co. 1822, 7 years, Crime: Idle and Disorderly. Trade, Reaper. DOB 1788, Native place, Cork Co. -------------------------------------------------- PROVINCIAL INTELLIGENCE. Limerick, June 19. Saturday last, Mr. Serjeant Torrens held a Sessions, under the Insurrection Act, at Rathkcale. Thomas Allen was found guilty on two charges — for being absent from his dwelling, and refusing to deliver up arms and ammunition. He was forthwith ordered for transportation. Saunders’ News-Letter, 21 June 1822.
