Prior to conviction, William had married Margaret Horn on October 25, 1813. They had four children: Elizabeth born 1817, William born 1819, James born 1822 and 1 unknown. After William's transportation his wife Margaret changed her name to Hannah. She later re-married Thomas Richards. William Allen received ticket of leave after serving 7 years and remained in Australia until his death in 1856
