1866: Precognition against David Allison and Janet Conway for the crime of incest.

Accused: David Allison, Age: 23, fisherman, Address: Residing with brother-in-law, William Conway, carpenter, Main Street, Crawfordsdyke, Greenock.

Accused: Janet Conway, wife of William Conway, carpenter, m.s. Allison, Age: 32, Address: 11 Main Street, Crawfordsdyke, Greenock, with husband (see National Records of Scotland; Reference AD14/66/140).


1866, 26 September: Trial papers relating to David Allison for the crime of incest. Tried at High Court, Glasgow (Second Court).

Accused: David Allison, Verdict: Guilty, Verdict Comments: Guilty in terms of own confession, Sentence: Penal servitude - 15 years (see National Records of Scotland; Reference JC26/1866/232).


1867, 20 July: Admitted to Portsmouth prison from Perth. Sent from there to Chatham on 12 August 1867 (see UK, Prison Commission Records, 1770-1951; Portsmouth Prison; Registers of Prisoners 1866-1868).
