William Alsop was convicted at Warwick on 03/08/1835 for stealing linen stockings. 7yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Asia', arriving 21/02/1836. Single man; 17yrs of age; shoemaker; 5'2 3/4". Assignments in Colony. Several records of misconduct (see link). 1839 - Launceston & Morven (now named Evandale). Free Certificate 1843.
