John Amey was assigned to 'The Galloping Parson' Rev. Thomas Hassall at Cooke. He received his Ticket of Leave on 8th April 1838 and Certificate of Freedom on 26th April 1842. From 1850 he was a farmer at Alberton in Victoria.
