Francis Anderson's first cousin Stephen Anderson also arrived in NSW as a convict about 6 weeks before him on the Bengal Merchant

Hertford Mercury and Reformer Hertfordshire, England 29 Mar 1836: Commitments to the County Gaol. Joseph Webb and Francis Anderson, charged with stealing about five pecks of barley from the barn of John Good, at Royston. Sentenced to fourteen years' transportation. No ship found for Joseph Webb. Francis Anderson was listed as 47 years old on arrival. Native Place: Herefordshire. Francis was illiterate, married with 1 female child, 5'9½" tall, ruddy complexion, grey hair, dark hazel eyes, lost two front upper teeth, angular scar over right eyebrow, scar left eyebrow, blue streak inside left wrist, scar back of left hand, scar back of middle and knuckle of third fingers of right hand, first cousin Stephen Anderson came out about six weeks ago. 1837: Assigned to H. L. Davidson, Cassilis. 1/9/1848: CP
