Native place - Cork, Ireland. Brother - John Sisters - Margaret, Nancy & Mary. Application for permission to marry: 30 June 1846 - to John Lane (free - this could be a free settler or served his time and now free). Approved. Married to John Lane at St. Joseph's Church, Launceston 2 Oct 1846. Johanna is recorded as "Reardon" and "Anderson"; aged 30 yrs. John is a sawyer, aged 47yrs.

Johanna Anderson was convicted at Dublin City on 25 Oct 1841 for stealing a watch. 7yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Hope' arriving 17 Aug 1842. Married to Robert Anderson, lived with him 4yrs. 1 child, Robert aged 9yrs - on board with her. Child admitted to St. Johns Orphanage, New Town, VDL 23 Aug 1842 (as was the requirement for female convicts). Discharged to Mr. Patrick Hill, New Norfolk 9 Nov 1846. Assignments in Colony. Some notes of misconduct. Sentence extended 6mths.
