John Anderson was sent to Moreton Bay penal establishment. Moreton Bay Prisoner Register. John Anderson, per Baring 2, tried at Middx. 9 Sep 1818, 14 years. Trade- sailmaker and tailor. Colonial Conviction: Feb 1824, sentence 5 years, To Sydney 6 Jan 1827. Description: John Anderson, native of Surrey, age 29, 5 ft 6. dark comp, brown hair, hazle eyes. --------------------------------------------------- Old Bailey Proceedings Online (www.oldbaileyonline.org, version 8.0, 29 March 2020), September 1818, trial Royal Offences > coining offences, 9th September 1818. 1107. JANE WILLIAMS , MARY PENDLETON , WILLIAM WILKS , MARIA WILKS . WILLIAM CHALKER , CHARLES HANSCOMBE , JOHN ANDERSON , SARAH IRELAND , HANNAH GILBERT , TIMOTHY LANE , JAMES YEOELL , JAMES DALAS , JOHN DUNN , JOHN WATSON , BENJAMIN TATHAN WILLIS , THOMAS OWEN , HENRY WAY , JOSEPH TURNER , THOMAS SEENEY , WILLIAM QUIN , JAMES WOOLE , EDWARD NEW , and JOSEPH LONGWOOD , were severally and separately indicted for feloniously and unlawfully having in their custody and possession forged bank notes, they well knowing them to be forged .
