NATIVE PLACE: Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, England. TRIED: He was tried, aged 14, on 7 October 1831 with two others for "the crime of theft by housebreaking [in the house of John McPherson] at Byres of Balmerino, Balmerino, Fife". His is listed as a sailor (see http://catalogue.nrscotland.gov.uk/). HULK: He was received on board the hulk Justitia on 1 November 1831, along with his accomplices Thomas Williamson, aged 16, and James Williamson, 14 (see UK, Prison Hulk Registers and Letter Books, 1802-1849; Justitia Register 1803-1836). DEATH: William ANDERSON never made it to Tasmania. He died on the voyage of "the cholera" (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON18-1-10$init=CON18-1-10p142; and https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON31-1-2$init=CON31-1-2p69).
