3 June, 1852: He was admitted to the Colonial Hospital, Hobart. 10 June, 1852: An application for a Ticket of Leave was refused on the grounds of ineligibility (https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON33-1-80$init=CON33-1-80p7). 9 July, 1852: Samuel Andrass died in hospital, aged 43 (Tasmania, Australia, Convict Court and Selected Records, 1800-1899; Register; Registers of convict deaths, 1845-1874). --0--

At some stage, Samuel Andrass was sent to Norfolk Island (https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON33-1-80$init=CON33-1-80p7). 2 May, 1847: He was returned to VDL from Norfolk Island per Tory (http://foundersandsurvivors.org/pubsearch/convict/chain/ai01069). --0--

IN VDL: 25 August, 1845: On arrival, he was listed as convict #18476, aged 36 when convicted, a farm labourer, married with three children, able to read and write a little and Protestant (CofE); his native place was near Stoney, Stratford, Nottinghamshire. Family: Mary (his wife), Elizabeth (mother), three brothers and five sisters (https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON14-1-29$init=CON14-1-29P264). --0--

TRIAL: 3 March, 1845: Samuel Andrass, farm labourer, was sentenced to transportation for life for stealing a mare. This was his second conviction, having served 12 months for shoplifting (https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON33-1-80$init=CON33-1-80p7). --00--
