LYNN, Jan. 18. On Monday, at our Sessions, before Mr. Deputy Recorder and a full Bench of Magistrates, Friday Angel, aged 19, for stealing two fishing rods and two walking sticks, from Mr. Whittingham ; and Wm. Minns, youth, for stealing a slm ass from J. Bray, were found guilty and sentenced to be transported for seven years. Norfolk Chronicle, 20 Jan 1821. LYNN, Feb. 1. On Monday last, Friday Angel and Edw, Minns were removed from our Jail to the Hulks. Norfolk Chronicle, 3 Feb 1821.
Adamant: Surgeon’s Log: National Archives ADM 101/1/2/2 1821 Folio 1: 19th March 1821; received eighty convicts from the Justitia, No sick. Folio 13: 30th April 1821; the weather becoming very warm and the prisoners complaining of thirst, I thought it prudent to order the lime juice and sugar to be served out. For this some time past the men have got into the habit of fighting amongst themselves every day and thought I have threatened to flog them and put other in irons, still two of them in my presence on deck commenced fighting, I had them tied up and gave William Smith four lashes and Friday Angle six, he being most in fault. Folio 18: 13th May 1821; ever since the prisoners came on board some of them has been in the habit of thieving every night and James Haynes, Friday Angle, Robert Woodbridge were detected; put the two latter in irons and handcuffed the former, with an assurance of my punishing them tomorrow. Folios 20-31: Friday Angle, aged 18, convict, taken ill at sea; sick or hurt, headache and inclination to vomiting and bad in his mouth, skin hot, pulse quick and small; put on sick list 21 May 1821, discharged 16 June 1821.
