Convict Notes

Conduct record show proper name as Grace Ada Ville, aged 30, married with 6 children. Previously acquitted of bigamy (two children). Convicted of stealing gold studs from a smith in Southampton Street, Covent Garden, a book, miniature picture frame, one sovereign and six shillings. Gave her trade as governess. Indent shows she was born in Madras. "Husband Henry Wyatt Ville deserted me this 8 years." Mother Grace Emma ? at Paris. Brother Henry David Samuel, James Temper (?), "rest abroad". Sought permission to marry Edward Gregory (1854) and Jean Lanzin (1855) Freedom 14 July 1857.

Serial bigamist, thief and con artist. Disappears from the record after her (final) ticket of leave in 1857. I would very much like to know her true origins, birth name, and what happened to her after she was eventually released.
