George Apsey was convicted at Dorset on 13/03/1829 for stealing wearing apparel. 7yr sentence. Gaol Report: bad. Previously in gaol for 3mths for leaving his Master. Hulk Report: good. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Sir Charles Forbes', arriving July 1830. Native Place of birth: Plymouth, born abt 1809. Single; labourer' 5'9"; aged 21yrs. Assignments of service in the Colony: 30/03/1831: Jennings - drunk. 21days Tread Wheel - suspended. 13/06/1831: Jennings - drunk, in Hobart. 7 days Tread Wheel. 20/08/1831: Jennings - drunk and fight inn-keeper at Walfords Public House. 25 lashes. 20/06/1832: Capt. Bell - insolent. Remanded. 02/07/1832: Capt. Bell - insolent and make false accusation against Master - imprisonment with 6mths hard labour on a road party gang. 23/08/1832: died at hospital, Hobart Town. Buried.
