1829 - Waterloo's first voyage arrived at Sydney Cove 9 July 1829. 180 Male Convicts. 2 Died on voyage. 7 sent to the hospital on landing. Total mustered; 171. Stephen Addison - Commander Michael Goodsire - Surgeon Superintendent [His wife was a passenger] 1842 - The Waterloo voyage of 1842 was wrecked on 28/8/1842. 189 people drowned, these being 143 convicts, 15 men of the 99th Regiment, together with 17 wives and children, the boatswain Mr. Chiverton, the sailmaker, the carpenter and 11 of the crew. Convicts were then received in Cape Town Prison from the wreck of the Waterloo, 2nd September 1842. They then completed their voyage to VDL per “Cape Packet” which arrived on 23/11/1842.

Richard Apted was listed as 21 years old on arrival in VDL and was transported along with his brother William Apted who was also on board. Richard was 5'6 1/2" tall, light brown hair, grey eyes, B inside rt arm - Heart darts Moon 7 Stars inside left arm, single. 1835 Muster: Assigned to Mr. Learmonth. 27/10/1843: TOL 21/10/1845: Recommended for a CP for the Australian Colonies. 31/10/1846: Approved. 1852: Married Sarah Burvill/e at Launceston - they had 5 children. 29/6/1852: Son Richard Henry Apted born, Launceston. 1854: Anne 1856: John Janes 1858: William Burville 1861: Emily Lavinia Sarah Apted died on 18/12/1868 aged 51 of Disease of the Uterus - Wife of Richard Apted, Sawyer and splitter. 3/3/1893: Richard died aged 80 of Senility at the Invalid Depot, Launceston.
