1829 - Waterloo's first voyage arrived at Sydney Cove 9 July 1829. 180 Male Convicts. 2 Died on voyage. 7 sent to the hospital on landing. Total mustered; 171. Stephen Addison - Commander Michael Goodsire - Surgeon Superintendent [His wife was a passenger] 1842 - The Waterloo voyage of 1842 was wrecked on 28/8/1842. 189 people drowned, these being 143 convicts, 15 men of the 99th Regiment, together with 17 wives and children, the boatswain Mr. Chiverton, the sailmaker, the carpenter and 11 of the crew. Convicts were then received in Cape Town Prison from the wreck of the Waterloo, 2nd September 1842. They then completed their voyage to VDL per “Cape Packet” which arrived on 23/11/1842.

William Apted was transported along with his brother Richard Apted and James Peters all on board. William was 5'5" tall, 23 years old, fresh freckled complexion, brown hair, lght brown whiskers, blue eyes. 1835 Muster: Public Works 13/2/1838: Church cleaner at Sorrell. 12/8/1839: Was a constable. 11/9/1839: Married Elizabeth Paul (Frances Charlotte 1833) at Hobart - they had 3/5 children. 16/8/1863: Elizabeth died of cancer of the tongue at Glenorchy. She was 55 years old - Farmer's wife. 11/8/1853: CP 12/7/1865: William Apted died in Sydney. 13/7/1865 The Sydney Morning Herald: On the 12th instant, William Apted, late of Hobart Town, Tasmania, aged 53 years, deeply lamented by all who knew him.
