Baptized 4 Aug 1811 at St Mary Magdalen church, Reigate, Surrey.

William Apted was transported along with his brother Richard Apted and James Peters all on board.

William was 5’5” tall, 23 years old, fresh freckled complexion, brown hair, lght brown whiskers, blue eyes.

1835 Muster: Public Works
13/2/1838: Church cleaner at Sorrell.
12/8/1839: Was a constable.

11/9/1839: Married Elizabeth Paul (Frances Charlotte 1833) at Hobart - they had 3/5 children.
16/8/1863: Elizabeth died of cancer of the tongue at Glenorchy.  She was 55 years old - Farmer’s wife.

11/8/1853: CP

12/7/1865: William Apted died in Sydney.

13/7/1865 The Sydney Morning Herald:
On the 12th instant, William Apted, late of Hobart Town, Tasmania, aged 53 years, deeply lamented by all who knew him.
