The assizes for Yorkshire, closed at the Crown end, where Sir Alan Chambre tried the following prisoners, viz. ... William Barker, John Cawthred, alias John Hind, John Eccles, otherwise Hepworth, and John Armitage, alias John Firth, were found guilty horse stealing;...all severally received sentence of death.
