Old Bailey: JOHN ARMSTRONG was indicted for feloniously stealing, on the 18th of December , a pound of indigo, value 12s. the property of Edward Hanson, John Pearson, Thomas Stoyles, William Pearson, and Daniel Gossett . On 11 May 1828 at the age of 53 years, he married Catherine Mangin/Mangan (Coleman) at St. John's Church in Wilberforce - (Catherine arrived in Australia on the "Almorah" on 28 August 1824, which departed from Cork-Ireland on 7 March 1824. She arrived in Australia with a 10 month old daughter Mary Ann Coleman. She was also known to have another child, a daughter, by the name of Catherine to a labourer on 18 September 1837 (after John passed away), he may have been Joseph Moore and she may have married him in 1838. Together, John & Catherine had 6 children as follows: Margaret Armstrong - Born: 14 September 1828 John Armstrong - Born: 14 September 1828 at Wilberforce James K. Armstrong - Born: 25 August 1829 Jane Armstrong - Born 18 February 1830 Elizabeth Armstrong - Born: 13 March 1831 Ellen Armstrong - Born: 3 November 1835 John was 5'11' tall, dark complexion, hair and eyes.
