Convict Notes

INQUEST: 2 October, 1851: The inquest found that Robert Armstrong died instantly, from a fractured spine, when -- "being greatly intoxicated and in liquor" and while employed painting a warehouse -- he fell from a ladder onto a stone pavement (https://stors.tas.gov.au/SC195-1-29-2597). --00--

DEATH: 30 September, 1851: Robert Armstrong, Ticket of Leave holder, died in Hobart Town, aged 48 (Tasmania, Australia, Convict Court and Selected Records, 1800-1899; Register; Registers of convict deaths, 1845-1874). Note: The transcript of his inquest, held on 2 October, states that he died on 30 October [clearly an error]. --00--

Forged an order so that he could obtain paints and materials from Eyres paint manufacturers in Liverpool without paying for them.
