Departed on 'Asia 3', voyage 54 from Portsmouth on 16 Aug 1827, arriving Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on 7 Dec 1827. Gaol report: Indifferent in custody. Ship's report: Good. Surgeon's Report: Orderly. Single. Protestant. Father dead. Mother at Native Place of Halstead (a charwoman). Clear record in the Colony apart from being drunk on 25 Sep 1837 - admonished. Conditional Pardon no. 2511 on 14 Jul 1840. (Could not find a record of marriage, colonial family or death in Tasmania so he may have moved to another state?)
