George Arnold was convicted at Gloucester 30 June 1835 for sheep stealing (part of a gang). Previous offences. Life sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the ship 'Asia (4) arriving 21 Feb 1836. Ship Surgeon's report: a cook onboard. Ironed once for stealing a fellow prisoner's sugar. Married man; 4 children; ploughman; aged 30 yrs; stout. Wife: Comfort at native place - Gloucester. Ticket of Leave 22 May 1844 Conditional Pardon 31 Oct 1846
