1832: On arrival in VDL, George Arston was 17, single and assigned to Mr Arthur Waynes (see http://search.archives.tas.gov.au/ImageViewer/image_viewer.htm?CON31-1-2,175). 1840, 14 May: Granted a Ticket of Leave. 1843, 31 May: Conditional Pardon approved.
1831, 2 August: George was tried at Hereford for housebreaking. He was 17. 1831, 2 September: He was admitted to the Cumberland prison hulk at Chatham, from which he was sent on 14 February 1832 for transportation to VDL (see UK, Prison Hulk Registers and Letter Books, 1802-1849; Cumberland Register 1814-1833).
