John Artler was 24 years old, born in Kent, illiterate, protestant, single. An Astlee Convict - assigned to Border Patrol in Victoria. 1846: TOL Portland. 27/7/1865: Kilmore Free Press, Victoria - Charged with committing an assault under arms, with intent to rob James Warren on the 11/4/1865 - found guilty and sentenced to 5 years hard labour. Found no date of death on Vic or NSW BDM's.
