Shropshire Summer Assize. Prisoners received sentence as follow Death— ... George Ashcroft, aged 18, from Bewdley, for horse-stealing at ?; and Charles Timmins, aged 17, from Old Swinford, Worcestershire, for stealing a horse belonging to Mr. Baldwin, of Cleobury Mortimer.- British Press, 8 Aug 1818. A respite, till further orders, has been received for Charles Timmins and George Ashcroft, two of the malefactors under sentence death in Shrewsbury gaol, for horse-stealing.
