James Ashe, Tried at Dublin City, Tried 6 July 1816, 14 years. -------------------------------------------------- Tasmanian Conduct Record: https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON31-1-1$init=CON31-1-1p8 No 14. James Ashe. Per Jupiter 1817. Co. Down July 1816, 14 years. Various incidents and punishments recorded, mainly being drunk. From his conduct record, it appears he was FS - Free by servitude, from 10 May 1831 onwards. -------------------------------------------------- NOTE: There appears to be a discrepencey on his Conduct record, as it states he was tried at Co. Down and sentenced to 7 years, whereas the other document says he was tried at Dublin City and sentenced to 14 years. -------------------------------------------------- Government Notice. No. 136. Colonial Secretary's Office, July 14th, 1830. THE period for which the undermentioned persons were transported having expired, certificates have been granted to them accordingly : James Ashe, 14, Chapman, 1817. Launceston Advertiser, 19 July 1830.
