Crown Calendar, [Lent?] Assizes, 1822, Lincoln. John Ashton, aged 32, late of Ashby, laborer, committed 3rd January, 1822, charged upon the oath of George Curtis of Scremby, farmer, that between the hours of six and seven o’clock in the evening of Monday last, on the highway dividing the parishes of Ashby and Scremby, he was robbed of a black pocket-book, containing memorandums, two letters, and a canvass purse containing several shillings in silver, and that he hath reason to believe that John Ashton, was the person who robbed him.
