Perth Gazette and Independent Journal of Politics and News, 29 December, 1854, p2: “Another accident while bathing happened at Guildford last week, when a man was drowned while bathing in the Swan opposite the outlet of the Helena.” (https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/3175720) The Perth Inquirer reported as above, adding that he was unable to swim and got out of his depth. --000--
