On Thursday arrived from Calcutta, via Derwent, the ship Mary, Captain Ormon, with a various cargo. -Passengers from Calcutta, Captain Faithfull and Lieutenant Hamilton:-The Mary sailed from Calcutta the 23d of February, and left the Pilot the 1st of March. John Asling, jun, aged 18, assaulting John Tansley on King’s highway and robbing him of thirteen shillings ; .. Nottingham Journal, 24 March 1821. The account of the trial was in the Nottingham Journal on 30 March, 1821, and reports how Asling attacked the prosecutor with a bludgeon on his head. Colonial Secretary Index. ASLING, John. John, Died Eden district. ---------------------------- John Asling sold his farm in 1866 TWOFOLD BAY -Beautiful seaside RESIDENCE and FARM, within one mile of the seaport town of EDEN Title direct from the Crown. For positive SALE by private contract, a farm of 21 acres, with a run capable of depasturing 250 head of cattle, or an equivalent number of sheep, being well grassed and watered. There are sixteen acres cleared and cultivated, and a portion of the purchased land contains a most valuable freestone quarry close to a safe harbour. The homestead comprises a comfortable verandah cottage, with the usual number of detatched outbuildings. There are a nice garden and orchard in full bearing, and a snug boat harbour With the above will be sold fifty head of cattle, more or less, twenty of which are quiet milkers; three valuable draught horses, and a splendid hack , also, carts, harness, plough, harrow, and, in fact the entire plant of farm implements, household furniture, domestic effects , &c, as well as a good boat. Those on the look out for real pretty seaside property, with which they can command other sources of profitable investment, should not miss so golden a chance as the present. The property is in the occupation of the proprietor, Mr John Asling, who will be glad to allow inspection and fullest particulars as to terms, &c, may be had on aplication to Messrs BARCLAY and TEAS, Eden. In the will of John Asling, late of Eden, in the Colony of New South Wales, settler, deceased. NOTICE is hereby given, that Charles John Williams, at present residing at the Waterhole, Wolumla, in the County of Auckland, and Colony of New South Wales, free selector, the executor in the said will appointed, intends, after the expiration of fourteen days from the publication of this notice in the New South Wales Government Gazette, to apply to this Honorable Court for probate of the said will.—Dated this 11th day of October, 1875.
