OCCUPATION: House servant and general ploughman, aged 23 on arrival in VDL (https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON18-1-3$init=CON18-1-3p4).


16 September, 1830: Joseph Atkins, inmate #10238, was admitted to the Leviathan hulk moored at Portsmouth. Listed as 22 years old and sentenced to life for horse stealing, he was sent from the hulk on 18 February to board the Argyle for transportation to NSW [sic] (UK, Prison Hulk Registers and Letter Books, 1802-1849 for Joseph Atkins; Leviathan; Register; 1801-1836). --0--
