He was tried at Northampton Liberty of Peterborough Assizes, sentenced to 14years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 26 6 1790 after a voyage of 6months on Fleet ship NEPTUNE; a voyage noted for extreme brutality of prisoners with a high death rate. He arrived on Norfolk Island, perhaps on SALAMANDER, on 11 11 1791. She arrived on Norfolk Island, perhaps on MARY ANNE on 23 4 1792 (also recorded as arriving on 7 8 1791, same date as John (Owen)). She had a second relationship with John (Owen his first) & produced a child. She is recorded as leaving Norfolk Island on 30 3 1793. She died on 6 11 1795 age30 mother of 3children on Norfolk Island. He was still a constable when he left Norfolk Island as part of the first evacuation (for which volunteers apparantly had been called with appropriate compensation offerred & for which he may have tried to decline as some successful farmers were asked to stay) with 3children on 15 5 1808 on ESTRAMINA to Derwent Tasmania, arriving on 5 6 1808; he had the Governors recommendation for a land grant. Mary (Allen/Allain) was born about 1759/65 & became a servant. She was tried for highway robbery, on 14 9 1786, stealing a watch from Hugh (Harding) at Old Bailey on 25 10 1786, sentenced to 7years, held at Middlesex Gaol Delivery & arrived in NSW as a convict on 22 1 1788 after a voyage of 12months on First Fleet ship LADY PENRHYN. She had a first relationship (1of6) with Frederick (Meredith his first relationship (1of4)). She, as Mary (Allen/Allain), arrived on Norfolk Island on 13 3 1790. She married secondly ??? (Connors) recorded as at St Davids CofE church (Hobart?). She, Mary (Allen/Allain), married thirdly (3of6) James (Proctor) on 5 11 1791 in group ceremony on Norfolk Island. She owned 50acres when she left Norfolk Island as part of the first evacuation (for which volunteers apparantly had been called with appropriate compensation offerred & for which he may have tried to decline as some successful farmers were asked to stay) with William (Atkins) & 3children on 15 5 1808 on ESTRAMINA to Derwent Tasmania, arriving on 5 6 1808. She is recorded in 1814 as a widow with 4children at Windsor (there is a Windsor in Tasmania). She is recorded as off stores at Hobart Town on 2 10 1818. She had a fifth relationship (5of6) with Edward (Pailes). She was Free by Servitude by 1798. She is recorded as sentence expired on stores on Norfolk Island in February 1805. She had a sixth relationship with John (Martin). She is recorded in 1828 as a widow with son Thomas (Martin).
