Cambridge Assizes. Mark Jackson (25,) John Attlesey (23,) and John West (21,) pleaded guilty of stealing lamb, the property of Wm. Cooke, of Soham. After an impressive address from the learned Judge, sentence of death was recorded against them. Cambridge Chronicle, 22 July 1831.




Prin. Sup. of Convicts' Office, Sydney, 3rd October, 1851. THE undermentioned Prisoners of the Crown, holding Tickets of Leave, being absent from their Districts, are illegally at large ; (their Tickets of Leave are cancelled) :— John Attlesley, Portland 2, 44, Cambridgeshire, laborer, 5, feet 7 inches, sallow and freckled comp., brown hair, grey eyes, woman on upper, woman, AM on lower right arm, blue ring on fourth finger of right hand; from Ticket of Leave, Maitland, since April, 1851.
