James Austen, aged 23, for assaulting Lucy Harbour on the highway, at Sonning, on the 30th November, and taking from her person five shillings; to be transported for 15 years. Medical Journal of the Eden 1840: Folio 2: James Austin, aged 25, convict; disease or hurt, catarrhus. Put on sick list, 7 November 1840. Discharged 19 November 1840. Folios 23-24: James Austin, aged 25, convict; case number 10; disease or hurt, pneumonia supervening on common catarrh. Put on sick list, 15 November 1840 at sea. Discharged 19 November 1840 to Sydney hospital. 22/11/1840: James Austen died in the General Hospital, Sydney. Listed as 'Austin' on NSW Gov. Convict Death Register.
