Personal details, upon arrival in VDL 1839: Aged 15 yrs; labourer; 4'8"; sallow complexion; red hair; Hazel eyes. Native place of birth: Bridgewater, Somerset, England.

Aaron was convicted of stealing wearing apparel. He was sentenced to 7 yrs transportation to van Diemens Land (Tasmania). He had various assignments and was treated harshly for misdemeanours with whipping, solitary confinement and kept in chains. Known to have served time in Ross Chain Gang. Free in 1844. Cannot find what happened to him after. No record on Tasmanian Pioneer Index of bdm to 1899. Convict record on www.archives.tas.gov.au convicts (page 24). My Axton family is from England, but not sure if related.
