He had 8 children when he left England with another one born. His physical description is reg number 393, age 57, trial on 01 July 1847, height 5’3 grey hair, light blue eyes, oval face, fair complexion, build heavy, a cut across his left hand. Through the family history it is quoted that he helped build Fremantle Markets and that Sampson was a good warder.
