George Bagshaw was transported on the Surrey Or Surry, departing 29th Sep 1818 and arriving 4th Mar 1819 with 160 passengers.
Built at Harwich in 1811 a square-rigged transport ship of 443 tons and copper lined she had two decks with a height between decks of 5 ft. 8 ins. In 1818, she had a major refit increasing the decks (and convict carrying capacity) to three. She was owned by the London firm of F. & C.F. Mangles.

Derby Mercury Derbyshire, England 26 Mar 1818: ASSIZES George Bagshaw, for stealing a heifer, at Culland, the property of Wm. Cox, Esq. George Bagshaw arrived in VDL. George was listed as 21 years old. Native Place: Stemdale. George was 5'11" tall, black hair, brown eyes, very large scar under chin and side of face. 1830 Muster: Assigned to Mr. E. Franks 1832-35 Musters: TOL 1/2/1838: CP 12/8/1845: CP Extended to all Aust. Colonies. 18/8/1845: Passenger, George Town to Port Phillip per 'Scout'. 1856: George died aged 70 in Victoria - no district given - VIC BDM.
