Convict Notes
Daniel Isaac Baker was 19 years old when convicted of stealing one watch, value £2.10.0. Daniel was the son of Moses Baker and Cicely Bowyer. Daniel was assigned to Mr Joseph Barrow Montifiorie , Bathurst. 9/3/1841: COF 4/1/1849: Married Mary Anne Myers, they had 9 children. 22/6/1867: Massive flooding occured over large areas of NSW, the Macquarie River flooded where Daniel and his family were all trapped in they shepherd's hut. By daylight the next day Daniel had lost his wife aged 43 and the 7 youngest children to "Exposure and cold in water during a flood". Daniel Baker's wife and 7 children were all buried at the Wellington Pioneer Cemetery, Wellington, and the flood was known as the Baker's Flood. 1886: Daniel died at Dubbo.
