Convict Notes
Edward Baker was 34 years old when convicted of "Shooting with intent to kill". He was one of 13 poachers who shot and wounded the Hon. George Warren Edwardes on 12/12/1826. Edward was 5'7" tall, grey eyes, brown hair, stout made, large scar on palm of left hand, little finger of right hand crippled. Wife and children at Norwich. Edward was a Brickmaker/farm labourer/ploughman. Assigned to W Gunn Esq., Supt of Prisoners Barracks, Sorrell. Once admonished for insolence. 13/8/1835: Edward drowned in the Esk River.
