Henry Wellesley Medical Journal Case No; 4 - Bubo. 1 October 1835. Off Margate Remarks; A delicate little girl put on today with bubo in each groin, and in the right groin broke yesterday & the other is on the point of breaking, has no sores and discloses she never had any, or any connection with man, but that she goth the disease about 2 months ago by going to the same privy in Newgate with girls who had the venereal, says the tumors in her groin have been only a fortnight .... Discharged well. Head and groins are now quite well. 22 October 1835 A bubo - is adenitis or inflammation of the lymph nodes and is an example of reactive infectious lymphadenopathy
