Transported on the ship "Hive" the ship ran aground near present day Jervis Bay, the Captain John Nutting was in bed drunk & asleep at the time of the incident. John Baldwell, native of Tipperary was one of the 200 convicts to survive the shipwreck and on 27th January 1844 was granted a ticket of leave & on 2nd 1844 Dec aged 28, applied to marry Elizabeth Cunningham aged 31.
