On Thursday arrived from Calcutta, via Derwent, the ship Mary, Captain Ormon, with a various cargo. -Passengers from Calcutta, Captain Faithfull and Lieutenant Hamilton:-The Mary sailed from Calcutta the 23d of February, and left the Pilot the 1st of March. Sydney Gazette, Sat 7 Jun 1817. -------------------------------------------------- Convicts who sailed on the 'Mary' direct from Ireland - 1819 & 1836 - are currently being listed, incomplete data to date.

SARAH M'KENZIE, wife of Daniel M'Kenzie, was indicted for aiding and assisting Eleanor Mead and Elizabeth Baldwin, feloniously stealing from the person of Mr Smith, notes the value £10. each, and a silk handkerchief; also for having received such properly, well knowing the same be stolen. Durham County Advertiser, 15 March 1823. On Monday last, Sarah McKenzie and Elizabeth Baldwin, both consisted the late Assizes of stealing from the person of George Smith, were removed from the gaol here to the hulks preparatory their being transported, the first for a term of 14, and the latter for 7 years, Durham County Advertiser, 17 May 1823.

The Humble petition of David Goodsir, Mariner, aged 25, a Native of Fifeshire. Sheweth your Petitioner, sailed from Woolwich to Sydney, in the ship Mary, with female prisoners, and being acquainted with the friends of Elizabeth Baldwin, prisoner, he had connections with her, since which time, the prisoner has informed your petitioner of her being pregnant by him, your petitioner therefore humbly prays your honour’s kind and timely interference in this, and prays he may be permitted to reside in the Colony, until your Honour will ….
