15/3/1823 Oxford Journal Oxfordshire, England: WILTSHIRE ASSIZES—March 11 Moses Ball, aged 13, William Beaumont, aged 15, Win. Crabb, aged 15, and Joseph Crabb, aged 13, for stealing from the person of John Singler, a silver watch, &c. William Crabb was on board the Medway and William Beaumont arrived per 'Phoenix 1824' to VDL. No ship found for Joseph Crabb. Moses Ball was listed as 17 years old on arrival in VDL (if his age was correct on being convicted, he would have been closer to 15). Moses was born at Bradford, he was 4'10½" tall, dark brown hair brown eyes, dark complexion, single, some small scars on forehead, small scar outer end of right eyebrow, scar pit of neck. Occupations: Farmer's boy/shoemaker. 1830 Muster: Assigned to E. Lord Esq. 30/9/1831: Permission to marry Mary Leicester (Mermaid). 21/11/1831: Married Mary Leicester - registered at New Norfolk. 17/12/1831: William Ball born New Norfolk. 14/8/1833: Henry Ball born New Norfolk. 1832 Muster: Assigned to Samuel Haywood. 1833 Muster: Assigned to Mr. Haywood. 1835 Muster: Assigned to Mr. George Day. Sept. 1836: TOL 27/5/1840: CP 3/2/1852: CP Extended.(to include all colonies). 17/2/1854: Married Isabella Sarah Ann Plunsom, aged 20, - Moses was 40 - marriage was registered at Hamilton. Moses listed as a shoemaker - 6 children listed. 10/4/1892: Moses Ball, aged 90, died in the district of Hamilton, of heart disease. Listed as a Laborer. 22/5/1893 The Mercury, Hobart: BOOTHE—BALL. — At St. Peter's Church, Hamilton, by the Rev. C. W. H. Dicker, Wm. Boothe to Isabella Ball, widow of the late Mr. Moses Ball, both of Hamilton.
