Stole 3 silk handkerchiefs at Manchester. Was found guilty at Lancaster Quarter Sessions held at Salford 21/7/1823. [A liberate of all such persons in the Castle of Lancaster in the House of Correction at Preston, Salford and Liverpool as were bought before the Court or have taken their trials at the General Quarter Session of the Peace, begun and holden at Lancaster, 9 January 1821]. "Says she was born at Leeds, pale complexion, brown hair, dark grey eyes, large pupils- the left larger than the right, glossy appearance. Tattooed 'Elizabeth & Peter Allen and 2 hearts entwined 'PA & EB' upper right arm, 'SS' left arm. Ears bored (pierced). singlewoman. 2 past convictions at Salford. [Uk Prison Commission Records- Register of Crown Prisoners-Lancaster Gaol- 1820-28] Suffered a bad cold onboard ship. [surgeons journal] Was sent to Van Dieman's Land and got her certificate of freedom in 1834 [Tasmania, Australia, Convict Court and Selected Records, 1800-1899]
