Old Bailey: 25th October 1820 Accused of coining (severally and separately indicted for feloniously having forged 1 l. bank notes in their possession, knowing them to be forged, Guilty - Sentenced to transportation for 14 years. 2nd charge: Feloniously and knowingly disposing of and putting away forged bank notes, with intend to defraud. Found not guilty. William was listed as 35 years old on arrival. Place of Birth: Norwich. Confessed Imprisoned in the Penitentiary 2 years sentenced 7 years discharged 2 months before this Conviction. Occupation: Bead maker & Lapidary. William was 5'6" tall, brown hair, dark brown eyes, pockpitted, Wife and 1 child at Dallick St City Road - Wife a lapidary. 1830-33 Musters: Public Works. 24/4/1830: Absconded 31/7/1830: Absconded 24/2/1834: William Banton died at the Launceston Hospital.
