I believe he was killed cutting down a tree on a property in Yass NSW owned by William Barber

William was charged and convicted of animal cruelty in 1823 whilst in the employ of Mr Robert Lowe. he was sentenced to 200 lashes and transportation to Port Macquarie Penal colony until 1827. In 1832 he married Mary Ann Britten (AKA Britton/ Brittain) and they had 6 children. They lived at Bungonia in NSW between 1832 and 1850. in 1850 William died suddenly when a tree he was cutting down fell on him.
