Folio 28: Margaret Barclay, aged 17, convict; sick or hurt, pleuritis; put on sick list 15 November 1827, put off sick list 25 November 1827 cured.

National Records of Scotland Title Trial papers of Margaret Barclay, late prisoner in the tolbooth of Paisley, for the crime of theft. Dates 4 May 1827 Pled guilty. Found guilty in terms of confession. Sentenced to transportation beyond the seas for 14 years. High Court of Justiciary. Western Circuit, Spring: Glasgow. Ancestry Convict Indents: Margaret Barclay was listed as 18 years old on arrival (listed as 16 at her trial). Native Place: Paisley. Occupation: Muslin sewer/house servant/all works. Margaret was single, 5'2Âľ" tall, ruddy freckled complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes, MB:CT on right arm by her own statement. Assigned to Gilbert McLeod, Sydney. Dec.1831: Permission to marry John McDonald (Minerva 1824) - John was 27 and had a TOL - Margaret was 22 and on Bond. 1832: Married at Scots Church, Sydney. May have had 7 children, cannot pick them out on the NSW BDM. 1832: TOL Liverpool - Trade: Milliner. 17/6/1843: COF.
