Suffolk Assizes. ... Labon Lee and John Barker, for breaking into the dwelling-house of Thomas Haywood, of Ringshall, and stealing three gold rings, two gold broaches, several silver coins and three silk handkerchiefs. Bury and Norwich Post, 19 Aug 1829. Last week the following convicts under sentence of transportation for life, were removed from Ipswich County Gaol, and put on board the Leviathan Hulk at Portsmouth: Samuel Calver, Benjamin Clements, Edward Benjamin Bird, John Smith, Robert Woods, Laban Lee, and John Barker.

John Barker was 20 years old on arrival in NSW, sallow complexion, brown hair and eyes, anchor between the right thumb and forefinger, ring on the left middle finger, single, native place: Suffolk. Assigned to Duncan Forbes Mackay, William River on arrival. 29/8/1832: Assigned to George rooks, Newcastle. 29/12/1837: John died at the Newcastle Hospital.
