Hertford Assizes The following prisoners were tried and convicted: William Barnard, for stealing a horse at Hitchin, the properly of John Evened; Joseph Charles, for stealing a mare at Hatfield, the property of William Pratchett; and Richard Styles, for stealing a lamb at Hatfield the property of the Marquis of Salisbury. British Press, 26 July 1819. -------------------------------------------------- On Wednesday last, seven male convicts were removed from Hertford gaol, and put on board the Retribution hulk at Sheerness, viz. William Barnard, John Dickerson, William Pitts, Joseph Charles, John Woodcroft, transported for life; and Charles Burton and Thomas Blott, for seven years each. Morning Advertiser, 25 Sept 1819
