Albert Barnes was transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Sir Robert Peel' arriving 26 Dec 1844. Aged 22yrs; single; 5'3"; wheelwright carpenter; Protestant; can read & write. Native Place - Bilsby, Lincolnshire, England. Father: West Barnes Mother: Mary Brothers: Martin, West, William, Elias. Brothers: John & Edward - at Hull Sister: Anne 18mths Probation Period in Colony. Sent to Impression Bay. Numerous assignments of work service. Also some misconduct and punishments. 23 Dec 1851: Ticket of Leave granted. 15 Nov 1853: Ticket of Leave revoked. 22 July 1854: Certificate of Freedom. Note on Record: April 1868 - Copy of this man's record sent to Sydney, NSW for the Inspector of Police.
