Lancaster Assizes. Peter Barnes and Jane Barnes, for coining and putting off counterfeit sixpences, at Liverpool, in the house of William Poulds, at at the same. Lancashire Gazette, 23 March 1816. Lancashire Assizes. The Judge passed...sentence of Death upon the prisoners capitally convicted, as follow: … and Peter Barnes (30) and Jane Barnes (29) for coining. … The Judge was pleased to reprieve the whole of those prisoners condemned, with the exception of Michael Henshaw, for maliciously shooting, and John Jones, for forgery.
